Inspire Our Schools began in 2018 when a parent felt called by God to ensure every school in their district was covered in prayer. Through their obedience—and the dedication of countless volunteers who embraced this God-given vision—the event has expanded across multiple school districts and states. Our hope is that one day, Inspire Our Schools will reach every state!
Inspire Our Schools is an annual event in which members of the community are invited to lift-up Christian prayers of blessing & dedication over all of the schools in their district. The event is 100% volunteer organized, led and funded. We are not an LLC or 501(c)3 – we are simply Christians who believe in the power of prayer, and have been called to organize this event. We provide all the information and resources you need to hold a successful event in your community, but each community is responsible for “owning” their event, which includes finding and coordinating volunteers, distributing materials, and promoting the event. We believe that as Christians, we’re all on the “same team,” we’re better together, and our schools are in vital need of prayer.
The event is completely volunteer organized and volunteer led!
Volunteer District Coordinators first secure permission from their school district to host an Inspire Our Schools event. They then recruit volunteer Prayer Readers for each school and facility in the district—including administrative offices, bus barns, and more. On the day of the event, these Prayer Readers arrive at their assigned location and guide attendees through a set of scripted prayers. If you love Jesus and are comfortable reading in front of a group, you can be a Prayer Reader!
Inspire Our Schools spreads almost entirely through churches, social media, and word-of-mouth because we trust that God will call the right people to attend. Whether three people or thirty gather at your school, God moves powerfully through the prayers of both the few and the many.
