Inspire Our Schools was started in 2018 by a parent who was given the vision by God to have every school in her school district prayed for. Thanks to the obedience of that parent, and to the dozens of volunteers who caught this God-given vision, this event is taking place in multiple school districts across Iowa. Our prayer is that one day Inspire Our Schools events will be held in every state!
Inspire Our Schools is an annual event in which members of the community are invited to lift-up Christian prayers of blessing & dedication over all of the schools in their district. The event is 100% volunteer organized, led and funded. We are not an LLC or 501(c)3 – we are simply Christians who believe in the power of prayer, and have been called to organize this event. We provide all the information and resources you need to hold a successful event in your community, but each community is responsible for “owning” their event, which includes finding and coordinating volunteers, distributing materials, and promoting the event. We believe that as Christians, we’re all on the “same team,” we’re better together, and our schools are in vital need of prayer.
The event is completely volunteer organized and volunteer led!
How Does It Work?
Volunteer District Coordinators secure consent from their school district to hold the Inspire Our Schools event, and then search for volunteer Prayer Leaders for each school and school building (admin. office, bus barn, etc.) in their district. Then, these Prayer Leaders show-up at their assigned school the day of the event and lead attendees through a list of scripted prayers – if you love Jesus & can read in front of a group, you can be a Prayer Leader!
The message about Inspire Our Schools is spread almost entirely through churches, social media and word-of-mouth because we believe God will call those who are supposed to attend. It doesn’t matter if your school has 3 people in attendance or 30 people – God can work through the prayers of just a few as mightily as he can work through the prayers of many!
